Commission on Safety and Abuse in America's Prisons


This Commission is a non-profit, limited-lifespan panel investigating current U.S. prison conditions, and how to improve those conditions for both guards and prisoners. After conducting four hearings and reviewing thousands of pages of submissions, the Prison Commission expects to release its final report in Spring 2006.  These documents were filed with the Prison Commission in Spring 2005, regarding Victorville USP and FCI Medium II.

Confronting Confinement, The Prison Commission Report

    

     On June 8, 2006, the Commission on Safety and Abuse in America's Prisons (The Prisons Commission, in conjunction with the Vera Institute of Justice) published its final Report, "Confonting Confinement."  The report is available through the Prisons Commission's Website, http://www.prisoncommission.org/report.asp.
